The fastidious donor of this dried fig specimen is not to blame for its dehydrated state. A food inspector appears to have had a momentary lapse. This fig was unearthed from a bag of Trader Joe’s dried figs. Unlike the other figs in the bag which were soft and moist, this fig was completely dried out and lightweight, as it remains today. Amazingly, it has retained a plump and bulbous shape.  NEXT >
